JOB TITLE:         Sales Representative

BASIC SUMMARY

Manage the customer experience as a representative of Merz RV Center to meet the goals and financial objectives set in this document.  Communicate with customers and coworkers to develop an RV sale that will cater to the customer’s needs as well as remaining in the guidelines of what our dealership can and is able to support.  Meet the minimum established company goals and objectives outlined in your job offer.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

Position reports to the Sales Manager.  Sales team cooperates together on daily tasks such as sales negotiation, product changes and customer management.  Initiates work request based on the sales agreement to ensure that all aspects of the customer experience defined.   Timely review of performance goals are completed by the president. 

AUTHORITY

Negotiate with the customer as a legal representative of the company to establish a sales contract that meets company criteria and satisfies the customers’ needs.  Present additional add on features to customer such as safety equipment needed.  Also vehicle financing options and benefits, tire protection, insurance options, extended warranty and other products and services as seen fit by the company

 

REPONSIBILITIES AND PRINCIPLE DUTIES

Responsible for the actions needed to conduct, support and reach an agreement between Merz RV Center, Inc and customer that is a mutually beneficial contractual obligation. 

Primary responsibilities are:

 

§  Prospect, qualify, update and follow up on customer sales leads to generate traffic related to selling recreational vehicles.

§  Utilize delegated contacts obtained at shows, RVDA, etc., to communicate with potential customers via telephone and email. 

§  Generate new contacts and obtain referrals from existing customers.

§  Consult with customers and internal resources to qualify, follow up and close sales with potential recreational vehicle customers.

§  Select and demo units to prospective customers

§  Follow up with customer traffic to close sales

§  Log, track, document and monitor all sales activities customer contacts. 

§  Support and assist the sales department in customer contact, phones calls, written documentation.

§  Utilize Dealership computer software for tracking, documentation and follow up.

§  Ensure recreational vehicles used in the physical presentation remain in top form and are protected from theft or damage.

§  Maintain monthly and yearly sales quotas.

§  Present financing and extended service contracts relative to selling process.

§  Close sales and Prepare paperwork

 

Other Responsibilities include:

 

§  Inspect and check out new vehicles when they are delivered to the dealership.

§  Inspect and check out vehicles at time of trade in.

§  Assist with answering telephones and with office cleanliness.

§  Set up and work at off site shows and on site open houses.

§  Set up display areas at shows and open houses.

§  Occasional Sunday work is required during shows and open houses.

§  Perform point of sale transactions and other duties as required. 

§  Assist with customer transactions and inquiries.

§  Documentation and handling of deposits is required.

§  Other duties may be assigned as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or at least five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Required to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Must have the ability to read and speak English.  Posses a reading level required for general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

 

Must effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, customers, and the general public.

 

This is position requires a Valid WI Driver's License and valid WI Sales Licenses.  Vehicle insurance is carried for the position and you must be insurable by Merz RV business insurance at all times during employment.  Actions that may jeopardize insurability include, but are not limited to, OWI, DUI and or Felony Convictions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS  and ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and see.  The employee is required to stand; walk; climb; sit; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.  The employee is required to lift objects up to 50 Lbs.

 

The vehicles are located outside so temperatures are uncontrolled.  Extreme temperatures of hot or cold may exist.  Rain, sleet, snow, cloudy or sunny conditions may occur and the employee will have to dress and handle themselves accordingly. 

 

The employee may be required to operate a forklift, snow plow, shovel, or battery pack tools as determined by the situation at hand.

 

The noise level in the work environment ranges from soft to loud.

STANDARDS FOR MEASUREMENT AND PERFORMANCE

Attain and maintain weekly and monthly sales quotas.  Meet the annual revenue sales goal while maximizing financial profitability for the company. 

COMPENSATION

The amount of compensation for each sale will be determined by the cumulative sales and percentage profit made.  The position has an unlimited potential in salary range.  Compensation of $40,000 to $60,000 for the first year is expected.
